Stephanida Semenovna (Andrianova) Dmitrievskaya | Стефанида Семеновна (Андрианова) Дмитриевская
Mother of Valentina Dmitrievskaya and her siblings, Stephanida was born on November 24, 1895 in the Kaluga Oblast region of Russia. She was from a peasant family and was a very hard worker. When her husband died of alcoholism she was left alone with 4 children including her newborn daughter Olga. During the war her sister sent 2 of her sons to stay with her in the village while she was there with 3 of her own children. A short time after, their village was occupied by German troops; she was forced to take care of all 5 children while under occupation. When her oldest daughter, Valentina, came back from the war she had 2 children, Elena and Valentina, and she left her husband, Fedor. Valentina left the children with their grandmother and went to Moscow to work. Stephanida raised her granddaughters until it was time for them to go to school at 7 years old. She was a great influence for both of them and was the most important person in their childhood. She died of lung cancer when she was 67 years old in 1962.
