Pyetor Eliseevich Makkaveev | Маккавеев Петр Елисеевич
Pyetor was the father of Boris and Viktor Makkaveev, husband to Rosa Makkaveeva. He was born on August 26, 1907 in a village in Belarus and worked as a veterinarian specializing in large farm animals. In the 1930s he was sent to Moscow for work. Just before the war he was sent to Mongolia to work on providing horses for the Soviet Army and he worked there for the duration of the war, his wife giving birth to their second son Boris while they resided there. Afterwards, he worked in Moscow in the Ministry of Agriculture of the USSR and travelled a lot around the country, never seeing a sea. All his life he took care of his younger sisters who were left alone after their husbands and fiancés died in World War II. He smoked since childhood and died of lung cancer in March of 1985.
