Boris Petrovich Makkaveev | Борис Петрович Маккавеев
Boris Makkaveev, informally known as Borya, was born in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia during the second world war where his parents were working as horse veterinarians for the Soviet Army. He was born to his parents Pyetor and Rosa Makkaveeva, and was the younger sibling to his brother Viktor Makkaveev. Borya spent the rest of his life, though, living in Moscow, Russia, graduating from the Moscow Institute of Civil Engineering in 1970 and working as a Civil Engineer all of his life. Upon graduating from university he married his lifelong wife and partner Valentina Makkaveeva with whom he had two children, Alexei and Irina Makkaveeva. He played soccer competitively in his youth and considered it as his career but changed his mind while serving the Soviet Army in Berlin from 1961-1964, maintaining his love for soccer even in his later years. In his free time, aside from soccer, Borya enjoyed keeping up with professional soccer, spending time with his family, specifically his wife Valentina Makkaveeva, and building new additions for his summer house. Borya died on February 1, 2022 in Moscow, Russia.
